Alex Nation was the controversial winner of Richie Strahan’s heart in this year’s season of The Bachelor after being chosen over fan favourite Nikki Gogan.

But even months after Australia’s hearts broke with runner-up Nikki’s, 24-year-old Alex still needs to defend her relationship with the WA hunk.

While appearing on an ‘All Star’ version of Family Feud, host Grant Denyer addressed the backlash the couple received, saying to Alex, ‘2016 Bachelor winner. You won Richie’s heart’ – to which a smiling Alex replied, ‘I did.’

But making it awkward, Grant then stated that it ‘divided a nation!’ and asked an uncomfortable Alex, ‘What was going on with that?’

'But, man, it divided a nation!' Host Grant Denyer asked the hard questions on Monday night's Feud, questioning Alex on what she thought of the public backlash about her relationship

‘I don’t know,’ began Alex. ‘You know, I guess, you know, people love… I love Nikki. She’s gorgeous. But, you know, he chose me. So… But at the end of the day, you know, I’m very happy.’

The couple are still facing criticism over their relationship, months after the finale aired, with fans of the show calling for Nikki to be the next Bachelorette.
