After an 18-month romance, Bella Hadid and The Weeknd have ended their relationship.

A source confirmed the split to People, saying, ‘Their schedules have been too hard to coordinate and he is focusing on finishing and promoting his album. They still have a great deal of love for one another and will remain friends.’

Bella, 20, and the 25-year-old singer (real name Abel Tesfaye) have been linked since April 2015 when she was asked to star in his music videos and album artwork.

Their relationship was confirmed at the 2016 Grammys – where the pair walked the red carpet together.

Speaking with Glamour, Bella further confirmed the relationship, saying that ‘as a girlfriend I wanted to be there to support him.

‘Seeing him so happy when he won a Grammy made me so happy… I’m dating Abel. I don’t see him as The Weeknd. I’m proud of The Weeknd and the music he makes, but I really love Abel.’

It is understood that the couple may have split due to conflicting schedules. The Weeknd is currently finalising his album Starboy in the US and Bella is due to appear in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris for the first time next month.
