Brad Pitt has spoken out for the first time following his split from Angelina Jolie while making his long-awaited red carpet return on November 9, for the Los Angeles premiere of his new film, Allied.

Marking his first public appearance since the divorce was lodged in late September by estranged wife Ange, the actor spoke with E! saying:

‘It’s really sweet, everyone has been really kind out here. It’s really nice to have all the support.’

The 52-year-old’s choice of words raised eyebrows, as ‘all the support’ implies that 41-year-old Angelina has received none, but the statement comes days after the actor was cleared of any child abuse accusations meaning he may be able to spend further time with the pair’s children.

The biggest concern in the couple’s divorce has been how it will affect their 6 children: Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.

On Monday, it was announced that the couple had reached a temporary custody agreement, and for the time being Ange has been granted full custody of the children while Brad will continue to see visitations in conjunction with a therapist.
