On Friday morning, a man who hopped the fence into Miranda Kerr’s Malibu home was shot multiple times by a security guard.

The guard was stabbed and subsequently hospitalised, while the intruder has since been apprehended.

Miranda was not home at the time of the incident, and authorities are declining to confirm that the house was that of the 33-year-old supermodel.

A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office has since revealed, ‘A suspected intruder was shot after being confronted by a security guard. Then a fight ensued, and [he allegedly] produced a knife and attempted to slash the security guard in the face.’

The incident occurred while only the guard was on the property, and was first reported by a neighbour who heard gunshots.

Miranda has been living in the Malibu home for a while now, and this isn’t the first time the model has been targeted by intruders. In 2009, she and her ex-husband Orlando Bloom were targeted by the infamous ‘Bling Ring’ – a group of teenagers who robbed the couple of artworks, watches and high-end clothing totalling nearly half a million dollars.
