Miranda Kerr has confessed that her mental health was severely affected following her split from actor Orlando Bloom in 2013.

‘When Orlando and I separated, I actually fell into a really bad depression,’ the 33-year-old model admitted to Elle Canada.

‘I never understood the depth of that feeling or the reality of that because I was naturally a very happy person.’

She then revealed that it was ‘meditation and mindfulness’ that helped her through her struggle. ‘Every thought you have affects your reality and only you have control of your mind,’ Miranda tells.

Orlando and Miranda, who share a son, five-year-old Flynn, were married for three years before filing for divorce in 2013.

While the supermodel is now happily engaged to Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel and Orlando is currently dating singer Katy Perry, there is no bad blood between the exes.

Miranda has frequently admitted they ‘love each other’ and will ‘always be a family,’ and Orly has seconded these statements, telling talk show host Katie Couric, ‘We love each other. We’re a family. We’re going to be in each other’s lives for the rest of our lives’.
