Once you’ve played a wizard, surely playing an angel is the logical next step? Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe and funny-man Owen Wilson have signed on to star in a work place comedy called Miracle Workers.

Yep, it sounds pretty out there, but we’re on board.

Set in Heaven, Daniel will play an angel called Craig, whose responsibilities include handling all of humanity’s prayers.

His boss God (Owen Wilson) has recently decided to take a hands-off approach to managing the world so he has more time to focus on his hobbies leaving Craig on his own to prevent Earth’s destruction.

Think Bruce Almighty on steroids…

The series has been given the go-ahead by TBS. Simon Rich (Man Seeking Woman) is the brains behind the project. Miracle Workers is based off his book What in God’s Name.

Simon will also act as showrunner on the series. Saturday Night Live’s Lorne Michaels will be joining as executive producer along with Daniel Radcliffe and Owen Wilson.

“Having Daniel Radcliffe and Owen Wilson join the TBS family is proof of the continued evolution of this comedy brand as the home of the most creative minds in the business,” Brett Weitz, Executive Vice President of Original Programming at TBS, says.

“Owen Wilson has long been a comic genius, and Daniel’s performance in last year’s Swiss Army Man really proved that there’s a sophisticated comedian under the surface of those brilliant dramatic chops.”

The seven episode series is scheduled to launch in 2018.

It’s been a busy year for Daniel Radcliffe who recently appeared on stage in London at the National Theatre in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead. He is also set to appear in the movie Jungle alongside Australian actor Joel Jackson which is currently in post-production.
