David and Victoria Beckham are considered one of the world’s most fashionable couples, but it looks like that is all thanks to Victoria!

The former soccer legend has revealed his biggest fashion regrets of all time and admitted that he takes his wife’s fashion advice “most of the time”.

David sat down with chat show host Graham Norton where he got candid about his fashion choices.

“Obviously she’s my wife so I ask her opinion and sometimes I listen – well most of the time I listen – and sometimes I don’t” he said.

The couple, now on-point with their style, haven’t always gotten it right!

In 1999 Victoria and David infamously wore matching leather outfits to a Versace party, but it’s really David’s questionable hairdos of years past that bring up some regret for the sporting legend.

“Some of them have been really bad,” David said.

“I hadn’t thought them through. The topknot wasn’t too bad but the cornbraids were a bad decision.

“It was bad timing as well as I was going to South Africa at the time with England and ended up meeting Nelson Mandela so that’s why I regret that one.”

Unfortunately, the regrets didn’t stop there. David’s controversial Mohawk was brought up.

“I don’t know why I had that one. I was in the dressing room with an hour to go before kick off when Sir Alex Ferguson saw it and made me shave it off,” David admitted

“I said no at first and then I saw his face change very quickly so I went and shaved it off in the toilet.

“He was very strict. It was the reputation of the club, he wanted all the players to look professional and he felt it wasn’t the right look. We were playing at Wembley too, so he kind of had a point!”

Today David is regarded as one of the most stylish male celebrities – we’d say he’s learnt from his mistakes!

Though it’s not all about looks for the stylish Brit, who these days is putting all his efforts into his charity work with UNICEF, raising awareness for children in need.

The retired soccer star may have channelled his fashion interest into his children, with young Romeo modelling for Burberry, but David understands the importance of his kids knowing the struggles of others.

“The children will be getting involved because I’m going to make them. But they are excited about that.” He said about his work with UNICEF.
