Katherine Heigl addresses rumours that she’s ‘difficult’

Katherine Heigl has addressed the rumours that have long-surrounded her, that she is notoriously rude and difficult to work with.

Katherine, 35, opened the floor to her fans when she hosted a Q & A session on her Facebook page, which has over 3 million followers.

One fan asked the former Grey’s Anatomy star a rather sticky question: “I’ve heard rumors [sic] that you’re very rude. What’s your thoughts,” they wrote.

“Yeah I’ve heard those too,” Katherine responded. “…honestly I don’t think I am…nothing makes me more uncomfortable than confrontation or hurting someones feelings and I would never, ever actively do so on purpose.”

Katherine continued: “Of course just like any human being I’ve made mistakes and unwittingly or carelessly spoken or acted but I always try to make any wrong right. That doesn’t mean I won’t stand up for myself by drawing boundaries and asking to be treated kindly and respectfully but I don’t do that with any rude or unkind intentions just with the same strength and honesty I think every one of us is entitled to.”

The reports have surrounded Katherine, for many years, with Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes openly blasting the actress recently, saying that Katherine had caused her to develop a “no a**holes” policy on set.

The pair worked together on the show for five years, but their relationship went downhill after Katherine intentionally withdrew her own name as a contender in the 2008 Emmy Awards. She explained her reason to the LA Times as: “I did not feel that I was given material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination, and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organisation, I withdrew my name from contention.”

Katherine recently opened the floor to questions from fans on her Facebook page.

A source from the set of Katherine’s 2010 film Life As We Know It told The Hollywood Reporter of Katherine’s apparent attitude problems and how they would cause “desperately difficult situations” on set.

“She can cost you time every single day of shooting,” the source said.

Katherine’s notoriously difficult attitude has reportedly cost her work in Hollywood with studio bosses deciding that although she is popular and would bring in audiences, her attitude deemed her not worth the effort.

Another anonymous “top producer” at a major US television network told THR that when Katherine’s name was suggested for a project that was being piloted: “On many levels, she would have been perfect for the role, but all of us said, ‘She’s not worth it.’ “

Perhaps though, the reports are simply exaggerated. Another Hollywood producer, Denise Di Novi, who worked with the actress and her manager mother on the film Life As We Know It, said that the pair: “are not shrinking violets. They’re very straightforward and tell you what they think. That doesn’t bother me.”

So whose side of the story do you believe? We guess that the only people who really know the truth are those that have to work with Katherine!
