Last week we wrote about Liev Schreiber writing a sweet note Naomi Watts for her birthday and this week the actress returned the favour.
Tuesday marked Liev’s 49th birthday and the mother of his kids shared an adorable photo of him with their two sons, Sasha, 8, and Samuel, 7 with a caption: “Happy Birthday to this one!!”
The little gesture hasn’t gone unnoticed – especially under the circumstances. Late last month Naomi and Liev confirmed in a joint statement that they had decided to split up after 11 years together.
Naomi and Liev were photographed a week earlier holding hands at the Toronto Film Festival where they promoted their new film, The Bleeder.
They wrote: “Over the past few months we’ve come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple. It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship.
“While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy.”
And true to their word, the couple who have been together since 2005 but never married, have seemed nothing but amicable toward each other.
It was Naomi Watts’ 48th birthday on September 28 and she put up a couple of posts on her Instagram account to mark the occasion, including this gorgeous baby one of her in a vintage pram.
She captioned it: “Another birthday!! #eek But I think I’m younger than this #vintage stroller?? Not quite sure what’s happening here…”
And it was under this image that her former partner, Liev wrote: “Happy Birthday Sweetheart”.
Three little words, but post-breakup they mean so much more.
