Sam Frost’s tearful body image confession on the All New Monty

On our screens, Sam Frost has won a legion of fans for her confident and bubbly persona.

But behind-the-scenes, the reality TV star turned actress admits being in the public eye has taken a huge toll on her mental health with cruel trolls constantly taunting her over her weight.

So now, Sam is tackling her body image fears head on by joining the cast of the The All New Monty: Guys & Gals, stripping off in the name of charity to help raise money and awareness for women’s cancers.

In a new trailer for the Channel 7 special, which Sam posted on her Instagram page over the weekend, the Home And Away beauty opens up about her body image insecurities.

“I feel a battle I’m forever facing is feeling comfortable in my own skin,” a teary Sam explains in the teaser.

“When I’m self-conscious about losing weight or gaining weight, it’s all over the news. I already know I’m not looking my best, I don’t need you to remind me,” the 31-year-old adds.

In another scene, Sam can be seen being comforted by one of the show’s producers, who tells her: “Anytime you feel like crying, just go off and do it!”

Despite the confronting task of stripping naked on national TV, Sam still manages to find the humour in the daunting situation.

“But this is for a greater cause… Might as well strip off on TV, that’ll fix it,” she laughs.

Sam’s famous pals were quick to throw their support behind their friend.

“You’re magnificent ✊🏼✨,” Georgie Parker, who plays Roo Stewart on the soapie and is set to host the All New Monty alongside Shane Jacobson, commented.

“I would have been a mess without your guidance and support ♥️ very appreciative of you GP. Xx,” Sam wrote back.

Meanwhile, fellow Bachelorette alumni Angie Kent told Sam she wasn’t alone in her struggles.

“You’re amazing. I can completely relate to this and a lot of women can. Can not wait to watch you shine beautiful 💕💫,” Angie explained.

Sam joins 14 other brave celebrities from Danielle Spencer to Wayne Carey in the three-part special, which is due to hit our screens soon.

Hosted by Shane Jacobson and Georgie Parker, the stars will strip their way through choreography by the acclaimed Todd McKenney in an effort to raise awareness for men’s and women’s cancers.
