When Amber Heard and Johnny Depp decided to settle their divorce, we thought that was the end of the drama; however, it appears we were wrong.

Amber, 30, was intending to donate the $9 million settlement she’s due to receive from Johnny, 53, to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union, but the actor has cut out the middleman and donated the money himself.

While Amber’s legal team has acknowledged that it’s ‘great and unexpected news’ that Johnny wants to help her charities, they believe that by not giving the money to Amber first, he’s changed the terms of their divorce settlement.

‘If Johnny wishes to change the settlement agreement, we must insist that he honour the full amount by donating $18 million to charity, which, after accounting for his tax deduction, is equal to his $9 payment obligation to Amber,’ read a statement.

‘Anything less would be a transparent attempt by Johnny’s counsel, Laura Wasser and Patti Glaser, to reduce their client’s true payment by half under the guise of newfound concern for charities that he has never previously supported.’

And so the drama continues…
