Ben Affleck was king of the talk show circuit while promoting his latest film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but now the actor has raised eyebrows with his latest interview in which he appeared to slur his words, get seriously angry and drop a record 18 F-bombs.

The 43-year-old actor appeared on the US chat show Any Given Wednesday to discuss ‘Deflategate’ – the scandal alleging the New England Patriots tampered with footballs in the NFL championship game against the Indianapolis Colts in January.

Ben went on a five-minute rant in which he defended Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, supermodel Gisele Bündchen’s hubby, who was suspended following the controversy.

The impassioned star turned a serious shade of red and nearly sent host Bill Simmons into a fit of giggles. Social media was just as quick to pick up on Ben’s odd behaviour, with many tweeting sentiments such as: ‘Bruce Wayne go home… You’re drunk’.

Ben has since tweeted about the incident. ‘(1/2) For those of you keeping score at home, I gave exactly 18 f*cks about my Pats. Upon reflection, 12 probably would have been sufficient,’ he wrote. ‘(2/2) We Boston fans have always been known for our subtlety. One of my favorite interviews; hope you get to see the entire episode. #GoPats.’
