As Angelina Jolie goes through her third divorce, her second husband Billy Bob Thornton has opened up about how being with Ange wasn’t all it was cracked up to be admitting  he ‘never felt good enough’ during their high-profile, volatile marriage.

In an interview with GQ magazine, the Bad Santa actor reveals, ‘I never felt good enough for her’,  adding that he seldom enjoyed going to red-carpet events with her. ‘I’m real uncomfortable around rich and important people’.

After meeting on the set of Pushing Tin in 1999, Angelina and Billy Bob married in 2000 only to divorce in 2003, revealing that while he considers himself easygoing, Ange was more focused on humanitarian projects, leaving their lifestyles to clash. But he felt no need to change. ‘I like how I am,’ he shared.

While the pair had no problem flaunting their romance in public with bizarre tokens of love such as wearing vials of each other’s blood, Ange’s work always had her jetting off leaving Billy Bob to enjoy quiet nights at home, which ultimately led to their split. But the actor says he and Ange, 41, are still friends and like to catch up for a chat.

After their marriage ended, the actor eventually found love with Connie Angland, 49.  Waiting more than a decade to tie the knot with her in October this year (after welcoming daughter Bella in 2004). Determined to make his sixth marriage his last, Bill Bob, 61, says he doesn’t like his marriages being numbered. ‘I didn’t want her to be called number six. You know.’

Billy Bob Thornton has three films coming out later this year: Bandits opposite Bruce Willis, where he portrays a hypochondriac bank robber. The Man Who Wasn t There, in which he portrays a small–city barber involved in a murder & Monsters Ball, in which he plays a death row executioner in the Deep South. Since winning an Oscar for writing Sling Blade, Thornton has emerged as one of the more intriguing actors and personalities in Hollywood. He is married to Angelina Jolie (who came to visit him during a photo session at the Sunset Marquis hotel), and there have been rumors about his alleged drug use for several years.
