The real story of why Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt and asked for sole physical custody of their children has been exclusively uncovered by OK!, and sheds new light on what has become the most bitter A-list Hollywood divorce battle. The reason Ange made these moves, an insider says, is that if she didn’t, she was terrified she could lose her kids.
When the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services launched an investigation after Brad had an incident with Ange and some of their kids on a September 14 flight, Angie was also concerned about what the investigation might uncover about her, the insider tells OK!. The agency wasn’t investigating only Brad, but was assessing the entire situation – including Angie’s behaviour and habits.
Now, former US soldier Kris Herzog, who worked as the couple’s trusted security advisor for many years, says he can no longer sit back and watch ‘methodical’ Ange, 41, accuse Brad of threatening the ‘health’ of their six kids.
Ange’s anger issues
While allegations of abuse have focused on Brad, Kris claims that Ange would often get feisty herself. ‘Angelina can whip Brad’s arse seven days of the week,’ Kris divulges. ‘She can ball up her fists and punch quicker and harder and more accurately than Brad and [his good friend] George Clooney together. She can whip both of them.’
And when it comes to the safety of her children – who Ange is fiercely protective of – she ‘doesn’t f— around’, says Kris.
The abuse claims
Since news of Brangelina’s split broke, the Oscar-nominated actor has been at the centre of physical and verbal child abuse claims after allegedly getting into an altercation with the couple’s eldest child Maddox aboard a private jet. And the accusations aren’t going away.
‘The fact that the investigation was extended is an indication of how serious this is,’ says an insider. But while the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services continue looking into the abuse claims, Kris maintains the actor’s innocence. ‘Does he mouth off when he’s been drinking? Yes,’ Kris admits. ‘But I’ve never seen Brad be violent towards his kids or anyone else. Brad would never raise his hands to those kids. One, he’s not that type of person, and two, Angelina would beat him to death.’
Kris’s observations are in line with those of Brad’s long-time friend Melissa Etheridge, who says the abuse accusations are ‘completely unfounded’ and ‘heartbreaking’.
