The MTV VMAs were held last night, and in what many are calling a ‘cruel move’ by MTV, Britney Spears’s performance of her new track Make Me was scheduled to follow Beyoncé’s headlining performance – which, of course, Brit wasn’t too happy about!

An insider backstage at the awards has admitted that Bey, 34, was given preferential treatment over Brit, with the mole confirming, ‘Britney got second choice in almost everything because of Beyoncé. Beyoncé got the master suite backstage, when Britney was originally told she was getting it.’

‘Britney’s team was just treated like they were second class and it really pissed Britney off. When Britney signed up for this she was told she was going to be the headliner, and the fact that she had to go after Bey really seemed to irritate her,’ adds the spy.

Britney, 34, hasn’t performed at the VMAs since her disastrous performance of Gimme More in 2007, and this year was meant to be her triumphant return to the stage. However, while Brit may have had an amazing performance planned, there was no way it could compare to Beyoncé’s 16-minute Lemonade medley.

Poor Brit!
