Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about her split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, saying they’re ‘better off being friends’.

The pair announced their ‘conscious uncoupling’ via Gwyneth’s website Goop in 2014, and they’ve both since openly discussed the amicable arrangement, which includes remaining friends and co-parenting their two children Apple, 11, and Moses, 10.

Just recently, Gwyneth shed a little more light on how things work between them. Speaking to Marie Claire Australia, the 43-year-old actress said, ‘I think we are better as friends than we were [married]. We are very close and supportive of one another.’

‘It hasn’t always been easy for us, because you have good days and bad days, as you do in life with anything. But I feel lucky because Chris has been willing to push himself for the sake of the kids and help me co-create this new family.’

She continues, ‘It’s like we are still a family, but not a couple.’

Chris, 39, was reportedly devastated when the two first decided to separate, but has since said, ‘It’s always out there in the media, but I have a very wonderful separation-divorce. I’ve lived a lot since then. It’s a divorce, but it’s a weird one.’

When asked about her new relationship with TV producer Brad Falchuk, Gwyn didn’t want to say too much, although she did say, ‘you just never know what is going to happen, what people you’re going to meet, what amazing lessons you are going to learn.’

Chris has also been romantically linked to a slew of famous ladies since the split, including 25-year-old Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence and his current girlfriend, 31-year-old British actress, Annabelle Wallis.
