Despite the recent upheavals in her personal life, Khloé Kardashian is refusing to give up on her biggest dream.

‘I want a family, which means like husband, wife, kids,’ she revealed in a candid interview last week. And it’s no secret that the 31-year-old has wanted a family of her own for many years.

The reality TV star has admitted it was her estranged husband Lamar Odom’s cheating and drug use that put the biggest hurdle in front of her when it came to getting pregnant.

‘Once I found out about all the cheating, I was very worried about STDs. I went and got checked. I’m clean, thank God,’ says Khloé.

‘Now, looking back, seeing why I didn’t get pregnant – when you’re high you don’t have strong swimmers.’

But even now, with her failed marriage to Lamar behind her, Khloé is still facing struggles to start a family after a long battle with infertility.

‘I found out I don’t ovulate and my uterus lining isn’t thick enough, and I have to take pills to make my uterus lining thicker and if that doesn’t get thicker, I cannot carry a baby – sometimes it just doesn’t happen,’ she revealed in 2013.

Khloé also has hormone issues. ‘I was taking hormone shots to stabilise them, and you have to take those shots consistently and they have to be done by a doctor – you can do them yourself, but I couldn’t. And then after your cycle, you have to go to the doctor for ultrasounds and more testing… It’s a commitment,’ Khloé revealed in 2013 of her battle to have a baby with Lamar.

It wasn’t long before her family started offering advice to the stressed-out star. ‘Kim’s trying to talk to me about freezing eggs,’ she says of her older sister, who’s also tried to convince Khloé to use a sperm donor.

But no-one is more disappointed than Khloé. ‘Trying to get pregnant is hard,’ she admits. In fact, it’s so hard that she’s already begun tossing up other alternatives.

‘It doesn’t necessarily mean I have to birth the kids. I could have either a surrogate if I can’t [or] I can adopt or, say, the man I married had kids,’ she explains.

But there’s still hope that Khloé can have a baby the oldfashioned way, especially now that she’s moved on with her new man, James Harden.

‘We’re good,’ she says of their relationship, which seems to be going strong.

A smitten KoKo even shared a snap of a huge bunch of pink roses on Instagram on January 18 – evidently a gift from her beau – and captioned it ‘Sunday type of LOVE’.

But while Khloé is clearly loved-up with the 26-year-old basketball star, who she says has been ‘really supportive’ throughout Lamar’s most recent troubles, she’s still looking out for her ex, admitting she’s concerned about him making mistakes in the future.

‘I said, “Listen, you do whatever the f— you want to do, but please promise me you’ll never go back to a disgusting brothel again. And if you want to pay someone, you can pay someone in the privacy of your hotel, like, what are you doing?!”’ she says.

‘You know, he said, he obviously wasn’t thinking and he promised he won’t go back to a place like that.’
