Lindsay Lohan has posted an Instagram photo in the midst of her relationship breakdown with fiancé Egor Tarabasov, pleading for people to respect her privacy.

Yesterday, footage emerged of the 30-year-old actress screaming at Egor, 23, that he’s a ‘f—ing psycho’ and begging for neighbours to call for help, shouting, ‘He just strangled me. He almost killed me. Please please please. He just strangled me. He almost killed me. Everybody will know.’

Police were called to the home, but when they broke down the door it was empty. The pair were later reported as safe.

Now, Lindsay has spoken out in the middle of the media storm to say, ‘I would appreciate if these speculations regarding my personal life would respectfully come to a halt. Unfortunately, a private matter has become more public than I can control and I would be extremely grateful if my fiancé and myself could discuss our personal matters on our own.

‘There are more important things going on in the world than our relationship. Please leave us be to solve our personal matters.’

Lindsay’s dad, Michael Lohan, says that his daughter is shaken but doing OK – and Egor is now out of the picture.

‘[She has been] texting me back and forth that she’s OK but [Egor is] off the radar, and he has been off the radar since this happened. She said he cheated. I don’t think she would say that if it wasn’t true.’

He adds, ‘Things happen. I don’t know what their relationship is like. Relationships take twists and turns, what are you going to do?’
