Emotions run high as an unexpected departure shakes things up in the mansion…

The rules of The Bachelor have been altered this season thanks to the show’s bold Bachelorettes, who aren’t afraid to tell Richie Strahan, 31, exactly where he stands. ‘Who says we have to wait for a rose?’ asks one contender.

With confirmation that yet another shock departure is in the pipeline – following Megan’s exit this week and Vintea’s walkout in the first episode – it would be reasonable to assume that the Bach’s self-esteem has taken a blow.

‘Given the fact that he is the Bachelor and he’s the one that should be judging whether he has a connection or not, [the walkouts] understandably would rock him,’ shares eliminated contender Sophie, 28.

And with the arrival of the date crashers – Victorian model Stephanie Dixon, 25, WA law student Khalia BAstian, 29, and Brisbane motorcycle sales rep Sarah Harding, 26 – the mansion has gone into meltdown mode.

‘It was pretty full-on to see how the house and emotions can get to you,’ says Steph. ‘I kind of stood back and was like, “Am I ready for this myself?”‘

With leaving via the rose ceremny door no longer the only way to depart the show, only time will tell how the next lady will bow out. Poor Richie!
