While fans are still spinning out over the shock departure of 27-year-old Megan, the health promotions officer tells OK! she has no regrets about her bold exit…

How long had you been planning on leaving?

I’d been thinking about it for a week or so, I just wasn’t feeling it anymore… We’d had our dingle date, which was fun, over three weeks earlier and we hadn’t really spent much time together since.

Was it like going on a great date and then not getting a second call?

Yes, exactly. Maybe if we had more time to talk, it would have given time for my feelings to grow, but as it happened I was losing feelings – I mean, we were halfway through and I hadn’t even told him I’d been married before.

Was it always your plan to exit mid-rose ceremony – you didn’t want to pull Richie aside in private?

Well no, that’s not what Richie did with us, so I didn’t see the point in doing that for him.

He couldn’t convince you to stay?

Let’s just say that I don’t think he had everything pinned on me.

Who then?

I’m team Alex; I hope she wins. She’s a lot of fun and so I hope they end up together.

Do you think Richie would make a good stepdad?

I have no idea; I don’t think I know him well enough to answer that!

Did it take you a while to get over The Bachelor experience?

Not really, I was stoked to go back to my normal life. I love my life, so for me, I felt like I was free.

Are you still looking for love?

I think it will take somebody pretty special to make me commit. I like being single and having fun with my friends. If I meet someone, great, but if I don’t, I’m happy.

Do you hope you and Richie will be friends?

Richie and I did have some laughs, but to be honest, I don’t feel like I know him well enough to know whether we would be better off as mates, or together or nothing at all. I think it takes time to get to know someone.
