When you’re worth a whopping $6.6 billion, protecting your staggering fortune would no doubt be at the forefront of your mind. Not for James Packer, it seems.

Friends of the twice-married casino mogul say he’s doing away with a prenuptial agreement when he marries new fiancée Mariah Carey, because he doesn’t want to upset the bride-to-be, who dreams of her fairy tale ending, having been married twice before herself.

‘James said he did not want to upset Mariah by focusing on the whole prenup thing because she would like to think that they will be together forever,’ spills the pal, just eight days after the 48-year-old proposed to Mariah, 45, in New York on January 21, with a 35-carat rock worth an estimated $10 million.

‘Bringing up such a minor issue would just take the romance out of the equation.’

Worth upwards of $730 million herself, Mariah didn’t need much convincing when it came to doing away with the financial legalities, adds the Packer insider, suggesting that the Dreamlover singer wears the pants in this high-profile relationship.

‘It seems like she has convinced him there is really no need to even have one to begin with.’

James and Mariah’s engagement comes around seven months after they debuted their relationship while holidaying on the Italian island of Capri, but as Mariah revealed in November, they hit it off just a month earlier.

‘We first met in Aspen [Colorado]. We were at the Hercules premiere,’ Mariah gushed. ‘We were talking and laughing, and people were getting mad at us and stuff like that. So we hit it off.’
