Rose Byrne looked at the top of her game on the Met Gala red carpet yesterday, showing off a trim figure after giving birth to son Rocco just three months ago. However, she’s confessed that her put-together appearance isn’t all it appears to be.

‘I’m still in a fog,’ the 36-year-old actress admitted when speaking to news.com.au.

‘I haven’t even left my apartment in three months. It takes an hour and forty-five minutes to get out of the house with a baby, and by the time I’m ready, I’m exhausted. I’m done, I’m going back in.’

But despite acknowledging that motherhood is tough, she’s also revealed she has a new appreciation for parenting which she hadn’t thought she would.

‘Really, I’ve turned around a lot. It’s actually very true all the stuff that you go through, all the clichés, which is a big surprise to me,’ she says. ‘I’m tired, but even so, all of it’s great.’

Rocco is Rose’s first child with partner Bobby Cannavale, 46, and the two have been together since 2012. According to the Aussie star, he’s a great father.

‘He’s terrific. He has a 21-year old [son Jake, from a former marriage] so this is old hat to him. And I have to say, having someone who’s already a parent is great because this is all very, very new to me. So I’m just taking tips from him.’
