Talk about going out on a high. After recently wowing audiences with his incredible portrayal of Ian ‘Molly’ Meldrum in the Molly miniseries, actor Samuel Johnson has announced that he’s quitting acting. Instead he’s turning attention to cancer research fundraising. ‘I can’t act anymore,’ Samuel wrote on his Love Your Sister charity Facebook page. ‘Not if I’m to serve you properly. This village means everything to me and I’m tired of other things dragging me away from you.’

After Samuel’s sister Connie was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer, the actor, who also starred in The Secret Lives of Us, undertook a charity ride around Australia on a unicycle. He raised an incredible 1.75million. Now Samuel’s determined to raise $10million. ‘I cannot play pretend on telly while our families are failing,’ wrote Samuel. ‘I want to be part of the push to solve it (cancer) once and for all.’ Good on you Sam.
