Sofia Vergara has been fighting ex-fiancé Nick Loeb in court over two frozen female embryos they had created while still together.

Nick, 41, wants to raise the children alone without any parental or financial help from the actress, and has previously written in the New York Times: ‘When I was in my 20s, I had a girlfriend who had an abortion, and the decision was entirely out of my hands. Ever since, I have dreamed about a boy at the age he would be now.’

He also admitted that another ex-girlfriend had an abortion when he was 19 and now, it is these two women who have sparked a turn in the case.

Sofia, 44, is demanding Nick reveal the names of the two former girlfriends who underwent abortions, and a California judge has upheld her request for names.

The star’s legal team wants to quiz the women under deposition about Nick’s sexual past; however, he worries that due to the high-profile nature of the case, the women’s names could become public.

Nick told Page Six that he ‘would rather go to jail than reveal the names. I believe we have to protect a woman’s right to privacy.’

Sofia, who wants the embryos destroyed, argues: ‘A child needs a mother and a loving relationship with parents who don’t hate each other… I wouldn’t want to bring kids to the world where it’s already set against them. It would be so selfish.’

This case only looks set to get messier…
