‘Ab Fab’ movie stars name their favourite Aussie cameo

And there sure were a few to pick from!

It’s been 24 years since Eddie and Patsy popped open the Bolly in the first series of Absolutely Fabulous. And now, the flamboyant duo, played by Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley are returning to our screens in a movie.

Of course it wouldn’t be a proper Ab Fab movie without a celebrity face or two. Despite the star-studded lineup of Aussie cameos, including Barry Humphries, Rebel Wilson and Kathy Lette, it appears Kylie Minogue was a favourite amongst the leading ladies.

“We have a lot of Aussies in it,” Saunders told The Daily Telegraph. “Kylie was like the cherry on the cake. We were just completely thankful for anyone who turned up to be honest, it was such a thrill.”

The film, which is due for release in July, sees the ladies fleeing to the south of France to escape the fallout from a major incident at an uber fashionable launch party.

Arriving penniless and disgraced on the French Riviera, the forever optimistic pair hatch a plan to make their escape permanent.

It reunites Saunders with the rest of the original cast, including Julia Sawalha as Saffy, Jane Horrocks as Bubble and June Whitfield as Mother.
