An enchanted forest set the stage for the dazzling David Jones autumn winter collection launch at their flagship Sydney store on Wednesday night.
Like a scene from Narnia, models made their way out of an oversized antique cupboard to showcase the department store’s designer collections to a 300-strong crowd made up of Australia’s fashion elite.
VIP guests, including Rachel Griffiths, Jessica Marais and The Great Gatsby’s Elizabeth Debicki, sipped champagne as they sat front row to watch the creative collections on the elaborate runway.
David Jones’s fairy-tale princess Jessica Gomes opened the show in a black leather bustier, red pencil skirt and fringed jacket by Aussie label, Ginger and Smart. Gomes was joined on the runway by Samantha Harris, Cheyenne Tozzi and Australia’s Next Top Model winner, Montana Cox.
The show featured more than 200 looks by 35 designers including Bianca Spender, Akira Isogawa, Josh Goot and Alice McCall. Here is a sneak peak at what was on show.
