On Friday, a representative for the 33-year-old actress confirmed the exciting milestone to E! news. Kate Mara is engaged to fellow actor, Jamie Bell.
Rumours have been following the Fantastic Four duo since last year when the New-York born beauty was spotted out and about wearing an impressive sparkler on that all important finger.
At the time, 30-year-old actor Jamie denied the rumours, insisting to E! news that he wasn’t engaged.
On a recent outing in Los Angeles, Kate suspiciously concealed her left hand from view.
It seems the couple really did have something to hide!
More recently, the star who is the great-granddaughter of the founders of both the New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers, uploaded a picture to Twitter as she readied herself to watch a game of football between the iconic NFL teams.
The picture prominently featured what looked to be an engagement ring on her ring finger.
And it turns out our suspicions were correct!
Though the actors met on set in 2014 while playing superheroes Sue Storm and The Thing for the Fantastic Four film, the couple didn’t go public with their relationship until 2015 when they attended the Met Gala in May as an item holding hands.
That September they continued to flaunt their blossoming relationship as they cozied up together on a beach in Malibu.
One month later the amorous duo were spotted again kissing sweetly on a street corner in New York.
This will be Kate’s first marriage and Jamie’s second who was previously married to Westworld’s Evan Rachel Wood. The pair split in 2014 after 19 months of marriage and almost a year after welcoming a son.
