The exciting and surprising announcement has been confirmed by People who revealed that Louis, 23 and LA-based stylist Briana Jungwirth , also 23 are set to become parents.
“Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother. It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer,” a mutual friend of the couple revealed to the American publication.

Louis met Briana after he split up from his long-term girlfriend, Eleanor Calder earlier in the year.
“Louis and Eleanor split up two weeks ago,” a rep confirmed back in March. “They have not announced this as they wanted some privacy during this time.”
“Louis is really upset about it all,” a friend of the 23-year-old singer admitted to People. “They tried really hard to make it work but it was just impossible – he’s away for nine months a year and they just grew apart.”
Louis recently split up with long-time girlfriend Eleanor Calder. Briana(pictured below) tweeted “My phone is shaking,” after the news broke.
The baby is set to arrive in the new year with the One Direction member vowing to be be a “hands-on dad”.
A friend close to the pair has explained that Briana is Louis’ top priority, with the former X-Factor contestant flying across the world to be there for every ultrasound.
“Louis and Briana care about each other very much and have spent a lot of time together privately over the last few months,” their friend confided to the US publication.
“They are both really happy and although they aren’t in a relationship, their friendship is extremely strong and they are both really excited about the baby. It’s early days and Briana and the baby’s health are the most important things right now.”
Before adding, “Briana is a really lovely girl; she’s absolutely not interested in Louis’ fame. She’s very private and most of the time they spend together is out of the public eye, just hanging out with their friends.”
In fact, the LA stylist had never attended a 1D show – we guess that will change soon!
Times are changing for One Direction – especially since Zayn’s departure and Louis’ new found responsibilities.
While Louis’ family may be expanding, his work family has downsized after fellow band member, Zayn Malik called it quits back in March, to focus on his relationship with Perrie Edwards and a potential solo career.
The 1D favourite has quashed any notion that he will be leaving the band, “We’re having too much fun!”
While we love the idea of Uncle Harry changing nappies, we imagine his family will be very hands on.
The parents-to-be have met each other’s loved-ones over the 4th of July weekend, with a close pal admitting the families “really hit it off when they met. They are all excited and totally supportive.”
