NRL star Sam Burgess and journalist Phoebe Hook are officially husband and wife after tying the knot in a stunning ceremony in Bowral on Monday evening.

No expense was spared on the nuptials, which were held at Phoebe’s parent’s sprawling country estate in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

All eyes were on Phoebe who looked flawless in a bespoke Alex Perry gown which featured a cut-out back, long sheer sleeves and an elegant train.

Her blonde tresses were left out with a bouncy, romantic curl while make-up was glowing and natural. She finished off her look with a pair of metallic gold stilettos and a bouquet of timeless white flowers.

Rabbitohs player Sam, 27, looked dapper in a custom-made Giorgio Armani suit.

Designer Alex Perry shared this snap of the bride rocking his bespoke gown.

There were no shortage of famous faces with actor Russell Crowe, union-turned-league player Lote Tuqiri and NRL star Greg Inglis all in attendance.

“At the Burgess-Hooke nuptials. The boys looking great in @armani, the brides dress by Alex Perry is just so beautiful,” Rusty, who owns the South Sydney Rabbitohs and has been a long-standing mentor to Sam, proudly tweeted on the day.

Sam’s best men were his brothers and fellow league teammates George, Tom and Luke Burgess plus good pal Chris Feather.

The duo, who have been together for 18 months, became engaged earlier this year after Sam popped the question in Greece.

Speaking of their fateful first encounter, Phoebe told the Bath Chronicle, “Neither of us really frequent concerts but we ended up bumping into each other at an Avicii show in Sydney and chatted the whole time.”

“He put his number in my phone and we had our first date a few weeks later while I was in hospital with back problems.”

Congratulations to the happy couple!
