News broke this morning that Chris Brown was involved in an 11-hour stand-off with LA police after a woman called 911 to report that the singer had held a gun to her head and threatened her.

The 27-year-old singer has since taken to Instagram to insist that the whole thing never went down, and that he’s being harassed by law enforcement, however, Lieutenant Chris Ramirez of the LAPD has told reporters that Chris ‘is being transported to robbery homicide, where he will be arrested for assault with a deadly weapon’.

He can testify his innocence despite the given facts as much as he wants, but the singer has long since ruined his chances of automatically being thought of as innocent until proven guilty in a public forum.

Chris has a long criminal history, much of which was highly publicised and then forgotten – notably, his brutal assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

TMZ leaked photos of Rihanna following the incident and Chris was placed on probation which only ended last year. Then, in 2013, Chris was charged with misdemeanour assault after striking a man outside a Washington hotel.

There have also been violent incidences where Chris has thrown a brick at his mother’s car despite completing court-ordered anger management classes; and, allegations from a Las Vegas woman earlier this year that Chris hit her and took her phone.

As patched as his past is, Chris continues to win awards, tour and do the talk-show circuit – which definitely isn’t deserving of someone who’s own manager tried to sue for damages caused during one of his ‘drug-fuelled rages’.

Chris Brown is formally sentenced in a Los Angeles Court Room. The singer will spend 1,400 hours removing graffiti and washing cars for assaulting ex-girlfriend, Rihanna. Brown was formally sentenced in a Los Angeles courtroom to six months of community labor in Virginia after he pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault against Rihanna. And throughout all of this, Chris continues to take to social media to vent that he isn’t the problem despite history suggesting it very clearly is.

It’s time we stopped forgiving and forgetting Chris Brown until his next misdemeanour.
